Nano Baby Doll(y) Instructions

The Nano Baby Dolly is based on a design I saw somewhere on the internet. It’ s a great DIY project with hardly any tools needed at all. It takes about 15 minutes to build.

Depending on your supplier, the costs of the dolly without the ball head (which is probably more expensive than the whole dolly) are about 50 -60 Euro.

You need:

1x 120x120x40 mm Item Profile 8

4x Inlineskate wheels with 8 bearings and 4 spacers

4x M8 40 mm stainless steel bolt

4x M8 nuts

4x M8 T-slot nuts

a ball head like the Manfrotto 486 RC2

1x 3/8″ screw

Needed tools:

6 mm Hex Wrench for M8 bolts  (or equivalent imperial wrench

1. Slide the T-Slot nut into the side slots of the Item profile

Slide the t-slot nuts in like this

Position the nuts at the outer edges.

2.Assemble the wheels, bearings and spacers. Attach the wheels with the 50 mm bolts to the M8 T-slot nuts. Use the M8 nuts as spacers.

Assemble the wheels

Use the M8 nut as spacer

It should look like this

Screw the wheel assembly into the t-slot nuts using a hex wrench.

Almost done

3. Slide the 3/8″ screw in to the middle slot on top of the dolly, secure it with a screwdriver  and screw the ball head to the dolly.

Use a screwdriver to prevent the screw from moving

All done !

All done ! That was easy, wasn’t it ?
